    Blackedge pencils

How can you mess up a decent product like a carpenter's pencil? Having been made up in Cumbria for donkey's years, someone decided they would be best made in China. Except they are rubbish now with the lead pushing out of the one that I bought yesterday!! Useless and not priced like a Chinese...

Rutlands special offer on Accuscribe Pro

Is it me or did the price of the Accuscribe Pro leap up in price in the last catalogue and now has dropped back to where it was on a "special" offer? Funnily enough it's still cheaper by about £2 in Isaac Lords, so not that special after all! Practice, sharp, taste and the word nasty spring to mind

    Rutlands Chattahoochee pencil offer

Special offer, 5 Chattahoochee pencils for £12.95, p & p free, not bad deal but why if the VAT has only gone up from 17.5% to 20% has it gone up by £2.97 from the last offer?

    Healys Hatfield, gone.

Just heard from the Festool rep that Healys, that used to be in St Albans have gone into liquidation, shame to lose a dealer that used to be a bit more flexible than some.

    Wardrobe project

I'm starting a wardrobe build but was thinking 15mm MDF but thought does it need to be that solid or would 12mm be sufficient? It will be screwed onto a cls frame so won't wobble, or that's the theory.

Mirror door removal without slashing my wrists!

We need to remove two mirror panels which are wardrobe doors. they are basically framed 6 foot by 3 foot, they won't fit done the winding stairs and I've built a porch where they might have gone out of the window if I dared twist a 6ft piece of glass to fit through a 2ft 6" window. Any thoughts...

    Workshop Heaven

I see on the Workshop Heaven website that they have brought my favourite tools a lot closer to my pocket and my house!!! Famag drill bits and sets including some I've never seen at prices that bring them into my range. I can see my collection of sawdust and shavings getting neater and more...

replacement blades for Fein Multimaster and Supercut

Any one tried these? A friend of mine had a go of these while in Germanland, miles cheaper than the Fein blades as you only change the cutting part and not the adaptor part to the machine. [http://www.nordride.ch/images/downloads/WSE_Starter_Kit.pdfl] I want to use the tool more than the current...

Bosch sds bits made in China!

I saw some Bosch SDS bits on display in a shop in Coventry, on the packet was marked MADE IN CHINA. I'm sorry to see this development from a manufacturer who used to aim at the professional market with their drill bits. Any one had any experience of these oriental versions?

Bandsaw owner user in Bucks/ Herts?

I'm looking for a favour, my nephew has a piece of spalted beech about 40cm across and about 6cm thick but wants to slice it across to make a small table from it. Does any one have a bandsaw and are able to make the cut for him? He lives in Hemel but works in Aylesbury, I can bring it to the saw...

    Carpenter's Pencil

I've just been given a present by my daughter for doing a couple of odd jobs around her new house. It's a carpenter's pencil that is all lead as it were, i.e. no wood. It's flexible enough to leave in your back pocket without that snapping noise when you crouch down and can't break inside if you...

I gotta get me one of these!!!!

I've had a go of one of these and couldn't believe the cut, now my hard-earned pennies are heading towards Workshop Heaven's offshore bank account. Any one used the auger bits that he's got as well?

Hi, I've just put 3 layers of fininshing oil on an oak framed mirror and was wondering if I should put anything more on top of that or would it be best to leave it at that? Thanks John
