    The wonders of a Domino!

Loose tenons all round and the painted stuff was done with a Fuji-spray! Just thought I'd share some of my recent jobs! Russ

    Bookcases

Sorry, I haven't been posting much of my stuff for a while. Mainly importing bespoke handmade kitchens from the UK to France (logistical nightmare) but I do manage to make a few pieces in the workshop from time to time! Here's a couple of bookcases that I knocked up for a customer that bought a...

    Towel Storage for the Mrs

Been working on our en suite now for quite a few years... This has taken a long time to complete due to my full time job as a cabinet maker 'hence' I never get time to work on our own house. Also made and fitted the doors and panelling etc.... Off now to buy her a Flake! Russ...

    B & Q Scam....

A word of warning for those of you who may be regular B & Q customers. Over the last month I became a victim of a clever scam while out shopping. Simply going out to get a few bits and pieces has turned out to be quite traumatic. Don't be naive enough to think it couldn't happen to you...

    En suite bathroom doors..

Bit daring this one.... Had to make it quick snap as the customer was chasing me to get it in early as his mother-in-law is due to arrive in a couple of weeks... and it's her bedroom.. Speed was the essence, so I knocked the doors up with dominos (loose tenons) and fixed the false glazing bars...

    Painted Shaker Cabinet...

I seem to be getting more and more shaker jobs at present. Like these projects as their pretty quick to knock up and spray. This one hides all the waste pipes that run down from the upper floor (hence the top box) MDF, beech and tulip.... Enjoyed working on this bathroom unit. The doors are...

    Birthday present for my wife

Really struggle for ideas when it comes to finding presents for anyone, yet alone my wife. Thought I'd make this in between projects as she never visits the workshop. We also needed a larger wardrobe as over the years she's started to invade my closet space.. (Cheek) Made from MDF and tulip...

    Cartwheel Table

The wife of a close friend of mine gave me an old cartwheel and asked if I could make something out of it for his birthday. She's German so I thought I'd perform something "vorsprung durch technik" Made it for a laugh as I know he hates this kind of stuff, she loved it and it's now sitting in...

    MDF Bookcase

Here's a simple bookcase that I knocked up for a local chap. Shelves are edged with beech and the finish has been sprayed on. The backing was scored on the panel saw to give that T&G effect. Customer loved it and now wants a drinks cabinet! Cheers Russ

    Beech Table

My parents have just splashed-out on a Plain English kitchen  (I'm in France and their in England) but wanted me to make a simple dining table that could be shipped over and plonked in situ.... The rails are dovetailed into the legs and the top is dowelled with dominos.... Posting...

    En Suite Panelling

Here's a panelling job (my first and last) that is almost finished, just waiting for the plumber to show up and run his tails through etc... Made from 30mm moisture resistant mdf (customers choice) and assembled with dominos and Titebond poly.. So pretty solid! The finish is going to be a...

    Shaker Wardrobe MDF/Pine

Fitted this today, had to go up a spiral staircase so took a few hours to put together. The whole thing is held together with dominos and Kreg screws and sprayed with Little Greene eggshell which went on nicely! Got another few to do so I plan on doing a wip with photos etc... Cheers Russ

How would you price these doors?

I wonder if any of you guys can help. I've been asked to quote for some doors, not that I often make them but after posting off the quote the customer has replied stating that the quote is too high. These are double doors in pine that I will paint, make frame and fit. Any ball park figures...

    Quick MDF Project...

Just a small corner bookcase we had to whip-up as an addition to a library that we fitted a few weeks back... Don't often work in MDF but know there's quite a few of you out there that do, personally don't like the stuff especially as my colleague is at present having some titanium pins shot...

    Cloakroom Cupboards

Hi All Haven't been on here for a while but good to be back! Thought I'd share these with you, their made from ply and chestnut and stand 2.4m high, also had a small bench/seat fitted in between, sorry no pics in situ due to the room being tiny. Just like to point out that we used Farrow and...

Any Makita Experts out there? BO6040

I'm a bit fed up with Makita France, in-fact their pretty useless. This has been sent back 4 times for repair and it keeps coming back in the same state. It's a great sander when it works but the random-orbital function stopped working a couple of months ago. Gears have been replaced and I...
