    I have 2 of the 1400 rails, don't rate the connectors. They can give you a 1mm bow in the cut, after moving the rail about even with very tight grub screws.     I think the the timber looks well being non symmetrical, especially as its such a contemporary design. Well done :D I just made a wardrobe for the house out of English Oak, didn't have any the the problems you mentioned.
