    Freshly Cut Sycamore

    Have a go turning it wet; it is great fun, but do be prepared for a 'sap shower', as already warned! It is really easy on the chisel and I find it the best of all the woods I can get for green turning. It does stain easily so keep the blanks as big as poss. I've found you can get staining...

    CHAINSAW LATHE... what a great idea...

    I keep asking myself 'why?' (hammer) And the bucket of water speed control - variable with the amount of water - and sandpaper under the 'braking' arm so you can sand the work at the same time?? As Homer woudl say "D'Oh!" (homer)

    How do I cut this?

    If it were me, and speaking conservatively, I would cut down the piece, thorugh longest width to give 2 crotch pieces, for bowls but depends what your after.
