No space for a cabinet saw…

The topic of buying a site/contractor’s saw, because of a lack of space or money to buy a cabinet saw, is one that has been visited many times here, and no doubt elsewhere. The topic of how to build a base for such a saw, how to incorporate it into some 3d modelled bench/router table/extraction...

Wanted FC Tools fc32 rail plunge

Hi, I’m after an FC Tools fc32 rail plunge, that being the jig to drill 32mm centred holes into a saw track. Though I have some of Frank’s gear, and appreciate the quality, I’m not sure I can justify the cost of a new one! I’m hoping someone has one that they’ve finished with… 🤞🏻

FC Tools fc32 rail plunge jig

Does anybody have the FC Tools fc32 rail plunge jig? I have one of Frank’s MK V rail squares and a repetitive stop, for my Mafell rails, so I know the quality of product; I’ve no doubt that the fc32 jig is worth £85, in terms of cost of manufacture. But I’m struggling to justify buying one...

    A trusted source: hammer handles?

I’ve a few hammers in need of new handles. Naturally, I’ve cast my eyes over what the internet can offer, but I’m hoping for a steer toward a trusted source of good quality items. One of the handles I need is an 18” one for my framing hammer; the only one I’ve found is a stiletto replacement...

    Recommend a PCB printing service?

Can anybody recommend a PCB printing service? It’s for a one-off item (for a DIY pre-amp). I’m happy to get it done in the far east, and to get a handful made at the same time, if needs be. I have, of course googled such services. But a recommendation from someone who has actually used a...

    V-belts versus flat belt

Is there any advantage to v-belts versus flat belts? I came across a photo of a dominion ES P/T with v-belts, but my own has a flat one. I’m due give it some tlc in coming months, and have been musing over “upgrading” to v-belts, which of course would also necessitate changing pulleys. Any...

Sold Meddings LB2 drill, 240v OPEN to OFFERS

I’m selling this on behalf of my uncle, who’s downsizing his hobby workshop. I don’t know the origin of the drill; my uncle traded a motorcycle for it, with a friend, in the 1970’s, and it’s been used by him as a hobbyist ever since. It was mounted on a robust, stable, mobile base, last year...

    Startrite 440r bandsaw

Hello, I know that one or two people here have/had a Startrite 440r bandsaw, and I‘ve read discussions of the replacement of the guides, however I’d be interested to know more about the saw; I’m considering moving on my Startrite 14-S-1, and buying a 440r for its greater re-saw capacity. For...

    Modification of Two-Bag Extractor

Good morning, As I re-establish my workshop, I’m rationalising my dust extraction, including finally upgrading from a bag to a cartridge filter. My principal extractor in a two-bag unit, similar to the one pictured. I will only have one machine attached at a time, through the 125mm inlet...

    Sold Dust/Chip extractor

I’m slowly re-establishing my workshop, in a better space, with more thought to layout, and so I needs fewer extractors. This is a Clarke Woodworker CDE85 extractor, single phase, 3hp. This runs happily on a 13amp plug. It’s had replacement bags in recent years, though you may wish to fit...

Sold Sedgwick ta315 mitre fence (for sliding table)

As per the title, this is a fence for the sliding table of a Sedgwick ta315, in particular, the cast iron table but I think that it could also fit on the more recent, steel tables. It’s the longer variant, intended for the larger table. It could easily be adapted to fit other machines too. £100
