    Coil Nail Interchangeability...

Hi can anyone give me a steer on the suitability of using one manufacturers nails in another maufacturers coil nailer... Specifically I am interested in knowing if nails for a MAX CN565 will fit in a Bostitch N66-C-E... Looking at Bostitch's US site they clearly advertise their nails for a N66...

    Fixing Advice Cedar Cladding..

I had half considered screws... I'm using a channel profile with an extra length groove to facilitate hiding the fixings (sorry probably pertinent to the request) so drill + countersink + screw... might take me a while good job I have enough cordless drills  Another option to ponder...

    Fixing Advice Cedar Cladding..

Hi all... Been a long time since I've been on.. too much to do so little time.. :( I'm after a bit of advice. Basically I have 800 linear metres (not a typo) of Western Red Cedar ready to install on my workshop... as I'll be doing this on my own it's dawned on me maybe a hammer is going to...

    dhlogcabins.co.uk

Thanks for all the replies guys... Having built a much smaller shed (8'x12') and with insulation / lining etc. I reckon that was £1500ish without electrics or base. Funny how lots of little things add up like door hinges / screws (new tools for building  ) The real kicker for me is the...

    dhlogcabins.co.uk

Just wondered if anyone else had used these guys before? Specifically I am replacing a (BIG) old outbuilding in the garden that is collapsing. This is almost identical in size / layout, and therefore looks ideal...

    Impact driver safety warning

I have actually found really cheap bits fair pretty well, but expensive bits (designed for non-impact drivers) seem more likely to shear. My theory of the week is that the expensive ones are made of harder (and therefore more brittle) steel. The real cheap ones are made of much softer metal...

BOSCH PMF 180 E AND XEO CHEAP ON B&Q

Thanks for the heads up guys! Never heard of either this or the Multimaster before, and I've come across so many jobs where it would have been handy I couldn't resist. Had a little play with it, and I'm truly suprised. What a great bit of kit, I was a bit sceptical about how good the cutting...

    Which router for table use?

Another vote for the Triton, can't comment on how long it will last as I've not had mine long enough (seems properly screwed together though!!), but for under the table features it's spot on. I particularly like the auto spindle lock as it makes changing bits a doddle! Si

I wouldn't like to to make a dust in this garage

Love the second pic, very "Top Gear". Nice colour too! I have always fancied a TVR, love the noise they make! I don't find lack of seats a problem as I have the "support vehicle" you can see in the backgorund for family duties  I was close to a TVR when I chose the Exige, but it's my...

I wouldn't like to to make a dust in this garage

Lol @ Dan, I suppose going to the pub is one way to blind you from the terrible random muddy bits that the Polish immigrants fail to wash off

    Ouch...!

I am super nervous of my router in the table because it is new. The closest I've had was with a SCMS. Basically had a smallish bit of timber (maybe 10") in the machine and it caught (still not sure how). Bang my hand was flung up, and smashed into the laser assembly directly behind the blade...

    Road Tax query?

SWMBO here was doing the same thing... difference was constant nagging by me to get it sorted.... eventually (knowing muggins would have to pay the fine) I ended up doing myself. Si

I wouldn't like to to make a dust in this garage

I am sad enough to do the whole day cleaning thing occasionally.... If you look closely you can see where I went a bit mad and cleaned the numberplate clean off  Though with the weather as it is (yes that is my day to day car ) every time I do it someone at the council...

    Neighbours, who needs them

Hmm don't get me started, I have a feeling I'm in for a right good argument with the next door neighbours. I had a delivery last week, a bit later the neighbour came round spitting feathers. The driver had managed to drive over the grass on the edge of the lawn, and created a small gouge in the...

Modern art at a bargain price...

Here is my attempt.... As you can sort of make out from the pic my masterpiece was made entirely from clamps: 4 x6" quick release bar clamps, 4 x 4" Mini bar clamps, and 4 x 2" C clamps. Bargain price of £11.73 the lot from the local makro. Not the worlds' greatest quality (JCB are selling...

    Excessive packaging or useless junk?

My Makita Circ Saw has been in my dilapited / leaky shed for the last few months... I thought it was safe in it's box, however when I went to get it the other day there was a worrying sloshing sound :( Fortunately it's ok apart from some light surface rust on the the blade. I'm sure if I'd...
