    First name puzzle

I know it would look more at home on a chainsaw forum. But I've had the saw a week and faffed about enough. The wood is 44mm thick, next time I will use 25mm The font has a shadow effect, looks nice on paper, but tricky for me to keep to the cut line. Sandpaper is worth it's weight in gold.

I've got CS 2 Does anyone know of an online tutorial that gives me a click by click on how to delete part of a pen tool path? I'm cutting out shapes from their background and want to reuse part of the original path. Thanks in advance Rich

What to use? I have read several jigsaw threads but can't find the one I want again. I think it was Powertools preferring a satin finish not gloss. I could be confused in this! Gem refurb

Started today by dismantling as much as possible. I think there are only a few nuts and bolts missing. Do you think I should dismantle the crank assembly. Can I use a pulley remover?

    Richard56's A1

Well you have started me off now. I don't really know anything about it's condition or what bits are missing. I do have some questions. What type of wood for replacing the arms. And does anyone have a close up pic of how the blade fits in? Thanks in advance. Rich

    Tack locker

I've gone upmarket and used hardwood faced instead of shuttering ply 12mm thick 1600H x 1220W x 600D The heat has been making it very difficult as it won't stay flat. After a few minutes it goes like this! With advice from this forum it now looks like this and is square  It's the first...

    Sander advice

I've got to round off quite a lot of dowels. They also have to have their diameter reduced a little bit. Is a belt/disc sander going to do a better/faster job than my random orbital one. Thanks Rich

Big Plywood Box (contains disturbing images)

I know this is not a thing of beauty. But to me it represents a change in my life. After a long time of bimbling from one hobby to the next, knowing I had no real interest in any of them, this humble box gave me the hope that one day with a lot of hard work, patience and determination I may just...

    Hello to you all

I have only recently discovered the magic of woodwork. Now I can't get enough. I look forward to you telling me where I am going wrong. I will post some pictures later, not for the faint hearted. You will see how bad I am. Hopefully as time passes you will see some improvement. Rich
