Afternoon all, 19 months ago, I purchased a Erbauer ERB380ROU from Screwfix (1/2” and ¼”). It packed in this weekend despite being under very little load while cutting white wood. I cannot find my receipt to claim on the 2 year warranty and Screwfix conveniently delete your records after 18...

Hi folks, Just set up ducting for my new dust extraction system. Its an Axminster FM300BC with filter cartridge. I have used metal blast gates (axminster) and 110mm drainage pipe ducting. I have the twin port on the extractor. One goes direct to my table saw, the other onto the ducting...

    Chainwood or Axminster dust extractor

Evening all, Finally giving in and buying a proper dust extractor for my wee workshop. Main culprit for dust is the table saw (which requires 1,000m^3 per hour dust extraction). I also use my router table, bandsaw, planer/thicknesser etc. I'm going to put in some ducting, so a bit of extra...

    Mitre saw blade

Hi folks, Quick question; i have been looking at buying advise for my mitre saw blade. With a mitre saw, do we 'always' do cross grain cuts? Hence i should get a negative rake, high tooth blade (60+)? I am trying to think of a time that i have 'ripped' with my mitre saw….?

    Router Table

Hi folks, Got two questions on router tables 1) I am looking at my options for buying, or making a table. I can get a table for a decent price, but it seems they all have plastic base plates which are of little use, so will likely need to upgrade to a metal one? And if i make a table, i need...

can i use a smaller blade?

Perhaps a stupid question, but can i use a 250mm blade in my new aw10, which is designed for a 254 blade? I gather i won't get as deep a cut, but there are so many more 250mm blades on the market, and my mitre is also a 250mm so will save buying individual blades. Thanks

    How to safely?

Hi folks, I am away to cut something similar to this on my table saw for a door threshold. However, i am struggling to find a safe way to do this - supporting the timber, making an accurate cut, leaving a thin slice. Any advice? Jigs required etc?

    What table saw?

Hi folks, My £150 table saw has had its days, so looking to replace with something that will last. I recently spent a fair bit on a nice mitre chop saw, so know the benefits of 'investing', but i don't want to duplicate the capability of my mitre saw if i can. My main uses to date have been...
