    Help upgrading my router

Thanks for the replies. I'm going to check the brushes and switch tomorrow. Appreciate the info on other machines which i'm in the process of looking into. Has anybody got any experience or knowledge on the Bosch 1600? Is it as good as it looks?

    Help upgrading my router

Afternoon all, 19 months ago, I purchased a Erbauer ERB380ROU from Screwfix (1/2” and ¼”). It packed in this weekend despite being under very little load while cutting white wood. I cannot find my receipt to claim on the 2 year warranty and Screwfix conveniently delete your records after 18...

    My new Dust extraction system

Hi folks, Just set up ducting for my new dust extraction system. Its an Axminster FM300BC with filter cartridge. I have used metal blast gates (axminster) and 110mm drainage pipe ducting. I have the twin port on the extractor. One goes direct to my table saw, the other onto the ducting...

    Chainwood or Axminster dust extractor

I have ordered up a couple soil pipe adaptors with my new dust extractor, and a few of the metal blast gates. I never considered the need for a larger pipe than 110mm. Normal drainage pipe doesn't come in 125mm (that I know of), so I assume i'll be ok with 110mm? Otherwise I need to jump up to...

    Chainwood or Axminster dust extractor

Ordering up the axminster! Looking at ducting.... i am sure i read a thread about using drainage pipe, but can't find it! I assume its best to use 110mm drainage and get an adaptor? I'd prefer to use clear pipe so i can see any blockage or issue, but its so expensive from Axminster and can't...

    Chainwood or Axminster dust extractor

Ah ha! I did notice it said 1ph, but i assumed it was a typo on their part. But one phase makes more sense! Good to hear the axminster one is good quality. I am planning on upgrading the filter too. I have a 16 amp type C for my table saw, but i assume i'll need to get a second breaker and...

    Chainwood or Axminster dust extractor

Evening all, Finally giving in and buying a proper dust extractor for my wee workshop. Main culprit for dust is the table saw (which requires 1,000m^3 per hour dust extraction). I also use my router table, bandsaw, planer/thicknesser etc. I'm going to put in some ducting, so a bit of extra...

    Hard wood

Hi folks, Just a quick question… where do you guys buy nice wood from? All timber yards near me do graded timber and perhaps some oak skirtings if your lucky….I am looking for a load of variety! I have been looking online, but not having too much luck!

    Dust extractor upgrade?

Ah ok, i didn't realise the chip extractor was more for chips than dust. So i guess the best thing is to add one of the cyclones to my SIP and hopefully there will be enough suck!

    Dust extractor upgrade?

Hi folks, I am away to install 110mm drainage ducting system around my workshop (i expect the longest leg to be around 10m). I currently have this dust extractor: http://www.toolstation.com/shop/p28641?table=no I was looking to add on a cyclone unit like this...

    Power supply

You could have the problem right there!! The power in the house went into a Consumer unit for storage heating, and also a CU for the rest of the house. With the storage heating gone, that CU was used to then route electrics over to the garage where a modern CU was used to distribute the power...

    Power supply

Thanks for all the replies! I just called Axminster again to understand why they think its my supply thats to fault - they said if the saw is slow, it will be the supply, but not starting is likely to be the switch thats faulty (i dont think it is!). Regardless, i am going to install a 16 amp...

    Power supply

Thanks for all the replies folks. The saw is this one: http://www.axminster.co.uk/axminster-tr ... ench-25363 It has a NVR switch I called a sparky today and he didn't think there would be a problem running off a 13amp as if the CB is not blowing, what would be causing the issue. He's going...

    Power supply

Hi folks, My AX10 came with a 16amp plug. The reviews stated that with a plug converter, everything would be fine.... When i press the 'on' button, sometimes it doesnt start and i need to hold the button on until the motor gets up to speed, then all is fine. The duration of time i need to...

    sliding table 5 cut

hmm, sounds like that may be the issue then! I'll have another play about with that tomorrow. When it comes to the 5-cut check, what do you think about the pivot point etc? Am i doing it right?

    sliding table 5 cut

Hi folks, I have a new AW10 table saw with sliding side table. Today i have been trying to conduct the 5 cut method to square up the rail on the sliding table, but having a nightmare! After conducting the calculations, i had to move the rail back around 0.3mm. This was done using feeler...

    Mitre saw blade

Thanks for the reply. I never gave details of the saw as i never thought it would matter - its a Dewalt DW717. I don't think there is a specific recommended blade, other than 254mm…. Any thoughts?

    Mitre saw blade

Hi folks, Quick question; i have been looking at buying advise for my mitre saw blade. With a mitre saw, do we 'always' do cross grain cuts? Hence i should get a negative rake, high tooth blade (60+)? I am trying to think of a time that i have 'ripped' with my mitre saw….?

    Router Table

I am just reading that PDF - that home made router table looks robust, yet very simple! You have got me thinking now! My new AW10 is arriving in the next day or two, so hopefully that will distract me for a while - i am thinking it would be good to build a big working table around the AW10...

    Router Table

Thanks for the comments. Custard: I can see your not keen on the cheap table saws haha. To be honest, i have never had, seen (in real life) or used a router table, so making the perfect one to match my requirements is tricky. I think i really need to see the faults etc and create a desire for...
