    Extruded or Cellular PVC

I have seen this stuff a lot on the various American DIY shows lately, and was wondering if it's made it over here yet? Basically cellular PVC is a solid weatherproof material that can be treated like regular wood - milled, mitered, routered, etc.

The great workshop cleanup of 2014

A few more pics of work to date: Replacing the old strip lighting with newer units, in a better position further back along the wall. Slightly more organized but no lights whatsoever! (here you can also see the nearly-complete chicken coop) My brother-in-law and I spent a good 12 hours...

    Choosing species

Well all around good news then, as oak is, as Bob says, plentiful here and is relatively inexpensive (about 1K eur / m3). Did manage to find some western red cedar of all things at 1500/M3, wonder how that compares to teak. Either way, glad to be getting into this whole woodworking thing, if for...

    Choosing species

Norm says it doesn't weather very well, turns black after a while (UV?)

    Choosing species

General availability around here is Ash, Beech and Oak. I know Oak does not do well in outdoor situations, wondering if Ash or Beech are OK for things like garden benches etc, if properly treated with tung oil or some other oil-based finish?

    Xcalibur sliding table dimensions?

Could always just drill through the table? My triton has a little tool that slips in from a hole in the top of the router plate to do the fine adjustments...

    Xcalibur sliding table dimensions?

So it looks to be about 1.5 meters x 1 meter in total footprint then? Think I'm going to have to get that router table. Way cheaper than building my own, plus look at that cast iron table. Solid.

    Xcalibur sliding table dimensions?

I have been told by Roy that they no longer carry the 12" cabinets, 10" only. And after watching that video, wow, that sliding table is tiny!!!!

    Xcalibur sliding table dimensions?

Perfect. I had seen the overall dimensional specs on Roy's site but was having trouble visualizing it. I found the video and will watch it on lunch break. Thanks again!

BB/CC ? BB/CP ? Interior, Exterior plywood? Where to buy?

Cabinet carcasses mainly. We are planning on installing compacted quartz for a countertop and that's a lot of weight, would I need to be worried about it holding up? It seems that £60 is pretty average for decent BB quality 100% birch, and I guess as I want the kitchen to last a decade at least...

BB/CC ? BB/CP ? Interior, Exterior plywood? Where to buy?

Where would be a good place to go to pick up some of it inexpensively?

    Shop electricity

Ah, good to know about the trip curve. And yes I think you're right, based on what I've seen on the specs for these, they are often labeled as 32A/30mA, which I am guessing is the top current rating and the leakage current break point. And just like that, I seem to know be more educated than the...

    Shop electricity

Yes, exactly. After some frustrated searching I just sent him an email asking if he knew of something cheaper, and he sends me a link for one that's got even better ratings that the NF LeGrand 32A that I had found for 200 something euros. Was also on BricoDepot... The price? 50 euros. I cannot...

BB/CC ? BB/CP ? Interior, Exterior plywood? Where to buy?

I'm looking for a bulk deal on some cabinet-grade (but not necessarily prefinished with polyurethane) plywood for a number of projects. So I would like to know if any of you know, 1. which of the DIY stores is best for quality/value but not terribly expensive and 2. if there's a major difference...

    Xcalibur sliding table dimensions?

End of April, good lord willing and the creek don't rise. Will be taking the day off the day of delivery so as to verify that the French delivery guys didn't decide to take a sledgehammer to it or something.

    Shop electricity

My SIL's husband is an electrical engineer who moonlights as a sparky redoing homes and such. We are going to be laying new cable out to the workshop to support the cabinet saw, dust extractor, lights, coffee machine, etc. He's told me that I need a "disjoncteur différentiel Type A, 30 amp"...

    Xcalibur sliding table dimensions?

The day has finally come, I sent Roy at Woodford a deposit for a 10" Xcalibur cabinet saw. Also getting the 10" P/T. I do have a question for y'all though : Roy told me the overall dimensions of the 10" with both extensions tables it measures 27" by 47". I have requested a sliding table for...
