    Insulated roller door for garage?

Yes, it can be done. I had a pair of doors installed a few years ago in a previous house. They talked about doing a "reveal fit" with the boxes on the outside, but eventually fitted them on the inside. The "insulation" in these doors is a bit of a joke. They're made from hollow extruded...

    Requesting IT help

What if you have telephone banking and your phone stops working? What if you use a normal bank and something prevents you from visiting your local branch (car broken down, some sort of injury etc)...? Most of the internet only operations do have a telephone service you can fall back on. Or you...

    something very different need help???

We've had two Zanussi washer dryers (first one got left behind when we moved house - new owners wanted it, and we were moving into a rented place that already had a w/m). They've both been fine. Current one gets a bit uppity from time to time due to the dodgy plumbing left here by the previous...

    Graphics Card Misery

The manual for your motherboard http://www.msi.com.tw/program/support/download/dld/spt_dld_detail.php?UID=554&kind=1 suggests no limitations with using a PCI card in the slot next to the AGP slot, and there's no on-board graphics, so no chance for misconfiguration/confusion there either. Do you...

    Microwaves & wireless routers

One slight caveat there - Wifi channels have a fair amount of overlap, and you actually need 5 channels of separation to avoid interference from anything nearly. eg. Channels 1, 6 and 11 can operate in close proximity and not impinge on each other. Jim

    Good veneerer in North London

Going a bit OT and of no use to the OP (sorry), but does anyone else remember a Veneer factory on the North circular (near the big incinerator in Edmonton) that always used to have a big sign on the road side of the building with their "Veneer of the week" (with the words made up from...

    HDMI connections

My first accusatory point of the finger would be at the HDMI cable. Any chance of borrowing another one (preferably a different make) to try? Definitely worth trying avforums and a google search in case there is a known incompatibility between the two bits of equipment... Jim

    Metabo sander

I tried a bit of pvc pipe, but it was too small to fit over the dust port. Annoyingly the pipe on my garage vac is the same size! I emailed metabo, and got a reply telling me that there is a proper adapter - part number 630898000 (or just 30898?). None of the online suppliers are acknowledging...

    Metabo sander

Yeah, pretty happy with the finish even from the included P120 discs - finished it off with some P320 and a sanding block as it needed very little work to get a nice silky smooth surface. Have now got a stash of discs down to P400... Jim

    4oz?

In the US there are 16 fluid ounces in a pint, compared to the UK's 20 fl.oz/pt. Fluid ounces are also slightly different. This seems quite a useful reference: http://www.gwydir.demon.co.uk/jo/units/volume.htm Jim

    Metabo sander

I'll confess to being a lazy so and so - was sanding a free standing shelf unit for the airing cupboard with it upright, so wasn't always able to apply much pressure for fear of it toppling over :) Can't say I noticed much difference with variation in pressure though :( Jim
