    katsu type router in table???

Hi I have a friend just starting to get into a bit of woodworking. He was asking me if there was a cheap way of setting up a router table. I bought a ready made router table when i started and by the time i had 6 months experience i really wished i had taken advice on this site and built my own...

    SIP biscuit jointer?

Hi Mark , I had a SIP biscuit jointer for a while and had no problems with it whatsoever. The only reason I got shot of it was because a local tool supply place was selling a bosch one on clearance for £75,I have to say I did notice a major difference but for £20 you wont be disapointed. P.

    Bench-top drill press.

Hi all, 'am thinking of buying a benchtop drill press. I have been considering the SIP 01703, the Record power DP58B or the Charnwood W380. All are pretty much the same spec' with the Record power being the most expensive by around £45. I know lots of people say get a second hand Fobco but...

Mitre slot adjustment on sip 01332.

...Thanks Bob, It is the parts that i thought but i just didn't have the confidence to go ahead and loosen the bolts. The brackets are called 'Rotation press blocks' which to me gives no hint of what they are. This is the most expensive woodworking machinery I have ever bought and at close to...

Mitre slot adjustment on sip 01332.

Thanks for the reply Rodders. I did do a search and the issue has been discussed before but nobody has stated which bolts or brackets i need to loosen to adjust the slot. I do have a copy of the manual but there is no mention of how to do this.On this saw the saw carriage is mounted to the...

    SIP 01332 table saw problem..

Thanks for all the replies guys, it was just as explained. While I'm on the subject of the SIP saw ,can anyone advise on where to buy 10" blades with a 1" bore, i hate having to use those reducing rings. For a start they're expensive for what is basically a glorified washer and they seem tight...

    SIP 01332 table saw problem..

Hi all, I recently bought the SIP 10" table saw and when I fitted a new blade I discovered that the blade is not sitting at 90 degrees to the table. When I raise the blade to full height and place the square against it there is about a 1mm gap at the bottom. I have looked at the very poor manual...

    Reducing bushes

Hi all, My local builders merchant is selling off some FREUD saw blades at discount. One blade I am considering buying is a 10", 80 tooth ,TCG ,2.8 kerf /2.2 plate, 30mm bore, The problem is my saw has a 1" arbor,I do have a reduction bush at 2mm thick and I just want to check that I have this...

    Small and mid sized routers.

Hi T-bone, Have you considered the draper expert 1350w combination router, It takes 1/4 and 1/2" bits and quite well priced.I had one a few years back (alas it was stolen) and was impressed having bought some rubbish Draper products before.I suppose if you already have a dedicated 1/2" router...

Best sliding mitre saw (compound?) for around £250?

Hi Dave, I have a 10" ryobi sliding chop saw that has served me pretty well over the years however I don't know if the later models are built to the same standard ? . . . the newer ones seem less expensive but I payed around £270 for mine about 6-7 years ago and I have to say I was pleasantly...

Kreg Rip-Cut available in the UK?

Hi, why don't you just go for a straight edge clamp? Trend do one but other brands are much cheaper,I think Axi' do them for about £30 . I've got a union 50" one and find it very useful .

Dado blades (can any saw use them?)

I think it's pretty ironic that a woodworker is advised against using a dado blade when anybody can go into the likes of B&Q and buy a 45 cc chain saw ! (I've seen the aftermath of a chain saw accident and I can tell you it wasn't nice) I guess the point I'm making is that a lot of...

Best router for use under a router table

Hi Pete, I would def' consider the triton. If you are only going to be doing small scale stuff you could get away with the 1010w model but for around £170 you could go for the 1400w model which comes with a half inch collet and quarter inch. Some kits come with the above the table height...

    Lidl braked castors

Hi Bob,'sorry I'm only replying to you now,was away for a few days. I don't know if Lidl does the same lines over here at the same time as England but if you see them I would def'buy a set or two. They seem to be the same type that Toolstation sell for £2.75-£3.25 each, white nylon rated for 70kg.
