    270 deg hinge?

humectant - thanks, only just noticed your reply, unfortunately by then the box was finished and ready for installation the following day. This is the completed unit in Situ: and and The solution I came up with after experimenting with my assortment of butt hinges and cranked hinges was to...

Help with a project decision - opinions required.

This may be a crazy idea so ignore it if so, I guess it depends how you like "organic" furniture, can you not form a corner display bookcase, have the two boards left pretty much as is but with the long edges at 90 degrees to each other trying to keep as much of the large knot intact as possible...

Help with a project decision - opinions required.

A mirror (or mirrors) looks like an idea, here's one I did yonks ago: https://www.ukworkshop.co.uk/forums/viewtopic.php?t=11773&highlight= I'm sure others however can come up with better uses with what looks like a lovely haul.

    red arrows at paignton

A few summers ago, my darling wife persuaded me to let her have a glider flight- one of her ambitions. We were holidaying in northumberland near wooler. She enjoyed he flight and we got chatting with one of the regulars and asked whether they had any problems with the RAF (who use the Cheviots...

    270 deg hinge?

Thanks for the input so far - I had already tried a flush hinge and knew that was not the way to go, I had picked up a double cranked hinge and it wasn't deep enough, so I am still hunting...

Sorry Dom, I must be going blind - I have a good look through the Hafele catalogue and cannot see them- ones that look like the one cambournepete posted.

    270 deg hinge?

I'm struggling to find a stockist of the hinges that cambournepete has suggested. I've looked at Woodfit and Isaac Lord (unless I can't drive their websites), screwfix, B & Q online and a local hardware store, any one got any good ideas, it looks like just the thing I need. Cheers

    270 deg hinge?

Thank you very much - I knew it would be something obvious like looking for a 270 deg hinge but I just could visualise how it would work!! Amazing some spatial concepts I am quite good at visualising and thinking through but hinges seem to confuse me no end. Thanks again

    270 deg hinge?

Hi, I have been commissioned to install a PA system in a church hall. All the equipment is going to be housed in a custom 19inch rack cabinet. I have built the basic carcass (19mm Oak faced MDF with Oak lipping), so far it has gone quite well for me- I need to work out a better way for making...

Chicken coop - but roof problem

OK a subject I know a little about. When researching the construction of my coop the perceived wisdom was to use Onduline sheeting at the roof material as you didn't suffer the problems of Red Mites. This is my effort: Now how you would adapt your construction I'm not usre but perhaps you...

    Solid hardwood board ?

Advice required: Best Table saw for £100

I got one of these last year as part of my 40th Birthday Pressie :D And actually I have been reasonably pleased with it, it is very noisy particularily when it starts up, I haven't noticed to much inaccuracy on the fence and it lock tight at the front and you have got a clamp screw at the...

So, Should I build the cot?

Just to put the cat amongst the pigeons: I made a rocking crib for my youngest, which I made from pineboard just screwed and glued together. It was quite a good job for me until I stained it and went blotchy and the wrong colour. But it didn't take very long or much skill and has survived three...

    Fox Planer Thicknesser

Well it arrived yesterday. Well actually I got one the day before but unfortunately it was damaged in transit, the infeed table adjustment knob protrudes from the edge of the table and there was only a thin bit of polystryrene betwee it and the edge of the box, needless to say when the courier...
