Friend of mine commissioned a storage box for Oxo cubes. (his wife's idea - not mine!) Had to be able to store 36 each of three different kinds of cube. So this is what he got. Panels are maple, "beams" are black walnut, lid is zebrano. I have no doubt it is the only one in existence! :P

Welcome to the Group! As far as the glue line is concerned, do you mean that it is "raised" so that it can be felt or that it is "visible" in contrast to the wood? Or both? Hand sanding down to as high as 600 grit is the answer to the first problem. The second problem is one more of trial...

Ah! How about I give it several coats of poly to seal it? Or make another one with another type of wood? Maybe I'll just keep the original equipment in there and only pop in the ZCI when it's called for.

Just spent a happy hour making a zero clearance insert for my TS. Made me wonder: why don't TS mfgrs include these with their units or at least offer them as an optional extra? (Such a handy little thing, as long as you remember to replace it with the original insert BEFORE tilting the blade...

And if it follows the usual pattern (like the recent Joint Genie) it will cost about £60 when sold here. :shock:
