    Podcast

There's a fairly recent addtion to the podcast list that you might not be aware of. The site is " logancabinetshoppe " and the podcaster uses hand tools only. I think it should be particularly interesting to novices like myself, but but some of the expert hand tool users may also be...

    Mortiser

I'm also considering buying a benchtop mortiser and the machine discussed looks a strong possibility. I also like the look of its brother, the AW16BMES, at about the same price. This one has feed rollers, extension wings and will take 3/4" & 13/16" chisels. Anybody got one of these...

    Sketchup

As at least most people here know, Sketchup is a wonderful package for designing projects. Reading some posts recently it's clear that some people can use it very well whereas others struggle. For those who are not aware there are some new video tutorials written especially for woodworkers...

    Wixey digital height gauge

Hi Mcluna, That seems to refer to the digital planer gauge. The one I'm looking at is this :- http://www.wixey.com/heightgauge/index.html Dave

    Wixey digital height gauge

Has anybody got one of these? I came across it when I was browsing "Stu's Shed". It has about a 4" height adjustment and can be used for setting blade height, router bit height and fence/bit depth. It costs around £35. I have the digital angle gauge which is a good piece of kit. I suspect...

    Worx router

I've just bought a Performance Power circular saw from B + Q for £25 simply for downsizing sheet material. I'm now looking for a budget router to complement my Triton table router. I see that Argos have a deal on a Worx 1500W router, which incudes 1/4" and 1/2" collets and 16 assorted...

    Woodsmith Shop

Bob The podcasts can be found at woodworkingonline.com - they are separate from but probably forerunners of the TV show. Dave

It's featured on the homepage of woodsmith.com and you can see clips from the shows.

    Woodsmith Shop

Just noticed a relatively new woodwork program being shown on US TV. Based around the Woodsmith Magazine, the format looks quite different from shows such as NYW and the homegrown shows often repeated on Discovery Realtime. I have downloaded several of the Woodsmith podcasts and very...

    Leigh Superjig and Triton routers

You just beat me to it, Ray. I just checked the Aussie forum and found out about the 8mm sleeve. I should have known it wasn't as straightforward as implied by the booklet as you never mentioned it earlier.

    Leigh Superjig and Triton routers

Regarding 8mm collets for the MOF001K, I notice in the safety and operating instructions booklet that Japanese models are supposedly supplied with 1/2", 1/4", 12mm, 8mm and 6mm collets. Don't know why they get such a wide choice, but presumably it means that 8mm collets are, or at least...

    bandsaw for beginner

Thanks guys. I think I will get the more powerful machine - I guess I can move across a bench and lose a shelf if necessary. The only trouble is it's OOS at the moment and I'll be lucky to see it before Christmas. Cheers, Dave

    bandsaw for beginner

I'm setting up a small workshop in a single garage and I've allocated a space in a corner for a bandsaw. Obviously space is at a premium and I'm considering the Axminster AWSBS2. It has got some decent reviews and the size is just right - I would keep it on a mobile base to wheel out for...

    triton router table problem

Thanks Dave and many thanks Ray. The problem was as you said on the phone, I wasn't pushing in the front lugs hard enough - they needed a fair bit of welly to get in fully. Everything looking spot on now. :D :D Thanks again Ray, Dave
