Hi.

I'M IN SERIOUS TROUBLE THIS MORNING.

My inbox in outlook express has emptied prior to 22.00 hours yesterday the 7th July.

Tried system restore no joy.

Yesterday I installed Corel Painter 9 and also tried to install the service pack 2 for XP.

Any suggestions please?

john.jt@tesco./net

My sympathies to all effected by yesterdays attrocities.

I stand by my point. SP2 is not a major upgrade, nor 'essential' in any way.
except if you want any further updates or support at the end of this quarter Microsoft will insist that it is loaded.

PS yes it is a massive security update but it updates 100s of kernal elements to prevent or control buffer overflows, Outlook calls, RPC generated traffic, etc

yuh good point, but you indicated that DW shouldn't need to install SP2. But some software has been designed to use the core updates within SP2.

I would have to agree with these comments and saying that anyone not installing SP2 will be digging themselves into an unsupported hole in the future.
