I usually wear T shirts of some description, but I really need to start wearing shirts with decent pockets as I'm in a wheelchair and really should carry a phone and an epipen (and a wallet, pencils, etc. :) ) all the time, and of course it is not practical to carry them in trouser pockets. Anyone recommend something good, ideally not silly money?

Check out the charity shops Phil. There are usually loads of shirts on offer at very reasonable prices and perfectly good for the workshop. Many with pockets. I have an oversized denum shirt I wear more like an over-shirt top. It's hard wearing and has large top pocket. Some denium shirts have two top pockets, or you could consider a denum jacket with several pockets for the same purpose. Just get the next size up to go over other clothes and keep you cosy in your chair.

Would a cotton gilet fit your needs.
As a fly fisherman and a photographer I have several
My wife will not let me wear them when she is with me

No, I really need a shirt. I've got body warmers but I drop them everywhere, then find I need stuff that's in the pockets - there are times when I really shouldn't be far from an epipen. The main problem is not being able to use trouser pockets for much.

In my high street there is a small taylors shop. They have done one or two little jobs for me, for only a couple of quid. If cost is a concern get a shirt from Blue Cross, British Red Cross shop, whatever, if you can find a local taylor you could get some pockets stitched onto shirt, to your own design, pockets where you want, size to suit, with zips or poppers, long or shirt sleeve, in hot weather, perhaps nylon shirt, if long sleeves, perhaps elasticated cuffs. Friends, wifes, might not be so common these days, sewing machine for running up curtains, they might have sewing machine, small job to them. Just a few thoughts for you Phil. Perhaps a large enough, don't know what called, buddy belt, pouch, fits round your waist to put wallet in, might be able to get a large version?
Peter :)

Have you heard of LETS? Local Exchange Trading Schemes, people exchange their skills to build up credits. So instead of paying others using money, such as a taylor. You use your credits to pay.You could use your woodworking skills or others to get some credits then exchange with other members for the services they offer. ( Is non taxable :) )
Have a look at, http://www.letsf.org.uk/about-lets/lets ... roduction/

if you fancy pushing the boat out a bit look at Carhartt workwear.

I bought a pair of Carhartt trousers from a cowboy shop in rural Utah a couple of years ago. Delta Airways lost my suitcase in Las Vegas so I had to buy some stuff until they could locate my luggage and ship it back to me.

The trousers were pretty good, but what was more impressive was the shop itself; they sold everything a rancher could ever want - "Uncle Jessie" dungarees, stetsons, bales of hay. Castration pincers were displayed next to the checkout in a similar way to TicTacs over here. How many people impulse buy castration tools?

You'd be surprised. Do you have a CCF store near you?

How about hitting an army surplus store for some chest webbing??!

phil.p - How about these if you don't mind bright colours -

http://www.universal-textiles.com/UK-UT/utshirt204.php

or

http://www.universal-textiles.com/UK-UT/uttp2466.php

which are a bit more expensive.

or

https://www.amazon.co.uk/Shirts-Brushed ... ork+shirts

there's a range of styles and prices with the Amazon ones. If you don't need long sleeves maybe someone can shorten them for you and use the material removed to make additional or longer pockets. I have never liked long sleeves when using machinery of any kind so always bought short sleeved shirts or had long sleeved ones altered.

HTH.
