Not SF itself, just down the penisula in San Jose or across the Bay in Oakland. Public transport isn't the best way to get to either I'm afraid.

Also the Japan Woodworker in Alameida just across the bay from SF. You'll need a car, though! Well worth a visit.

No didn't make it to Woodcraft or Japan Woodworker - real shame. In fact didn't manage to get any toys to brings home (for myself) - couldn't even find a decent (ie significantly cheaper than the UK) camera shop (was after a lens and flashgun for my DSLR). Must be more organised next time!

Hi Gidon,

In the past I have ordered stuff over the internet from Lee Valley and had it sent to the hotel. Ordered it a week before and then when I arrive I have a nice welcoming present! Worth thinking about for next time.

Woodcraft were happy to ship to a hotel as well.
