I'm a complete novice with woodlathes and have bought a secondhand Axminster AWSL 700176 which isn't being used at the moment as i'm in the middle of making an apothecary coffee table but have been offered an Aximinster 100 mm clubman chuck (old version of SK100?) with c jaws.8x1 tpi.As far as I can see this will fit my lathe, can somebody confirm this please.
Thanks.

I've looked at the spec,so am I right in thinking as long as the chuck thread is the same as the headstock spindle thread 8x1 tpi then it will fit?
Thanks

It is the book to start with. There are heaps of other good turning books but that one starts with safety. I was lucky that it was in the box of tools that came with my first lathe. As good a foundation to turning as you can find.

John

Oops only just noticed these replies.
I do have Keith Rowley's book Woodturning a foundation course but thanks for the suggestion.
