Being a miserable old git who drives a Golf, I don't know what is the point of a real Ferrari engine?

Reliability! This engine is 100 times more reliable than the original engine.

There doesn't have to be a point. I suspect that the guy who built it just wanted to see if he could do it. A bit like climbing a mountain or running a marathon, just to see if it can be done. I think it shows a lot of skill in all aspects of woodworking.
