wooden dogs bed

been asked to make a wooden 3 x 3 dog's bed just wondering what should i use to stain the wood pet friendly ?

Brilliant ;-) Our dogs slept anywhere. Bed or no bed is no inhibitor to dogs. They seemed to quite like flagstones in summer (cold) and rug in front of the fire in winter. Snooze at foot of owner when gardening always seemed ideal. Anything safe for humans is safe for dogs. They don't care what it looks like.
