Had a 20 mile round trip this afternoon to look at a home made bookshelf that someone on freecycle wanted out of her deceased dad's house. He had made the bookshelf some years ago. It was about 9ft long by 12" deep and four shelves high, about 2ft. A lovely looking dark wood, but when I began taking it apart I found out it was chipboard. I was gutted. I could have taken it to use as shelves, which she was happy with, but I think I'd have ended up taking most of it to the tip. Such a shame. :|

Amazing how some things can be disguised to look like something it isn't. Bad luck Martin. Now, had that been oak………………..

thats a shame martin, but as others have said it could have been some nice oak or sepele , keep trying...
