Next month I'm off to James Mursell's chair making course. I'm going to be making the continuous arm Windsor.
Has anyone else done one of these courses and if so how did you get on.

Can't help with any feedback unfortunately Tony as haven't done similar myself yet, but sounds like great fun and very interesting too I should think :)

Cheers, Paul

Hi Paul

I've been wanting to do it for ages, but could never find the time. Seems strange saying that considering I've been retired for 8 years now. Really looking forward to it, I'll let you know how it goes.

that sounds magic waka,
chairs and boxes hold a mystical lure on me, I've looked at chair making courses to have a go at but obviously i won't be going for it so to say for at least a 2 years but i will once my current ventures are over.
really looking forwards to how you get on.

take care
TT

+1 for the chairs and boxes.
I've spent a few days with Andrew Crawford but haven't got around to the chair making yet despite having 2 huge chunks of Elm which would make ideal seats for a traditional Windsor.
I've met James a couple of times at shows and he is a really nice and helpful guy so I'm sure you will enjoy your course. Be sure to post a review and loads of pictures.

I'm hoping we get some feedback on how these courses go / went ? Looks like an enjoyable way to spend a few days.

I've not read James book, but I'm sure it will be a necessity after the course. Getting close now leaving on Sunday for an early Mo day start.
I will (if allowed) take lots of WIP's for the forum.
