Evening all.

My porch is looking awful and needs a spruce up. Before i repaint it I'd like to take a look at the window mouldings (i think that's the correct term? The wood trim that holds the glass panes in.)
Some are loose and lifting. When i go to replace them is it best to add some putty between glass and moulding to seal? Not something I've had to do before.

Any tips appreciated.

Unless you plan on completely removing a pane then I'd bed the glazing bead back using what evers there at the moment. All the glass I've had fitted (using beads) in the last 10 years have been siliconed back and then capped off between the glass and the edge of the bead. There's no reason that wouldn't work, you might just end up with a mish mash of differing methods.
