It was hardwood, but I have no idea what.

All my wood is 'treewood', unfortunately for me.

Love it! and it looks like Oak to me too, at my old works they used to get loads of pallets but most were the chipboard type but I know one guy who used to make fire surrounds from it and sold them at local markets.... you would never guess they were once pallets and at the end of the day its all wood so not only are you making some cracking stuff your saving the planet! 9-)
When I had my Chrysler 300c I used to tell everyone.... yeah it may be slightly thirsty BUT my air freshener doesn't damage the ozone layer! lol
