Which hardwood for internal doors

Hi Guys
I need a bit of advice swmbo wants me to make some hardwood internal doors for our humble abode, making the doors is not the problem but i dont work in hardwood very often these days, so im a bit out of touch with what is readily available. can someone give me any red/mahogany colored choices that will be stable enough for a modern centrally heated house.

We took some down recently that were made from meranti. Quite mahogany-esq but cheaper I believe. Sapele or utile would also be good mahogany substitutes on a budget.
