Need to replace a couple of the casements on my bay window due to rot.

But where can I buy good quality softwood for the job? Which is the best wood type to use?

Richard

I can vouch for Devon Hardwoods , http://devonhardwoods.co.uk/ , and even though they have their business name as hardwood , they do sell redwood etc , I have just bought a shed load of 63 x 225 and it was a good price , better than my local Snows Timber , I bought a reasonale amount so unsure of minimum order but if you were to call them , then I am sure they would help , but for small orders it may be beneficial to collect , they are near Budleigh Salterton .

cheers

I can recommend timbersource in Frome as well. Just finishing some windows using douglas fir from them and will be ordering for next job which is 12 windows in Doug fir.

Helpful as well there.

Cheers

Nick

I would highly recomend "Accoya" wood. 50 year unconditional guarentee, and no movement issues.
Its available from your local James Latham branch
