I have a trunk similar to the one listed. I'm in the process of knocking the dents and dings out of it. It's not going to be pristine but I would like the lid to lock. Usual story, no keys. Does anyone know what this type of lock is called? It has two loops on the hasp which lock into two pegs that slide across in the lock if that makes sense. Hope someone can help. Thanks in advance.

Do you mean like this?

If so, it is a box lock.

Or if really stuck remove the lock and ask a locksmith if he can make a key. A friend did that years ago for a wardrobe, don't know how much it cost though

nice Idea, but I got a bit impatient and it's now in bits! ( and I didn't take a photo of how it goes back together)
