Have to agree on a mandrel but is it long enough for a pen ?

Pen mandrel. I had one like this a long time ago. I think they were sold by Craft Supplies. The long bit goes in the headstock and the short bit goes on the shaft and is held against the pen blanks by the live centre. The drawback of this type of mandrel was the limited range of length so for some pen kits, you will probably find you have to make spacers to get the overall length in the working range.

looks like a cotogivator to me. normally found next to the discomboomerater valve in engines from the 50's and 60's?
