No I've not started any projects, but I've started buying some tools.

Popped into Axminster today and bought a Festool Domino 500 and accessories. I also bought the TS200 saw.

I debated about the 1400 Festool router but it was heavier than I expected so might think about the smaller one etc.

Anyway I'm underway with the purchasing. Got a few more bits to buy before I consider making anything though!!! :)

There is still time for you to come to your senses :x send the festool goodies and the saw to me and walk away while you still can

Lol. Now begins the job of extracting stuff from the garage so it really can become a workshop. That means I've got to build some storage down the side of the house for the bikes. I'll probably have to build some new racking as well. Looking forward to the project though.

You won't regret the Domino, it's awesome :)

Also, the OF 1400 is a brilliant router, with superb dust extraction. Not sure if the smaller 1010 takes a 1/2" collet, which is something to consider before making a final decision. The guide bush system is also extremely easy to use. I did have a an issue with mine not being perfectly central, which is known and discussed here, but it only affected one operation i do with it. By the looks of it they'll be able to sort it for me. It probably won't make any difference to the majority of users, and Festool are looking at my my machine at the moment.

While they have mine, they've sent me a loan 1400, and a 2200, so i can carry on with that operation. I'm pretty sure none of the other manufacturers of the tools I own would have done that :)

Have fun setting up the workshop.

Cheers
Stu

The 1010 is only a 1/4 which is why I was thinking of the 1400 initially. I'm also not sure about my router table options etc. so I'm still debating my routing options generally.

I was going for the T11 as I've got a Trend router table that's only had a T4 in it for light work, but the OF 1400 was too good to resist. I will still end up getting a T11 or a Triton for table work.

I've been thinking of the Dewalt 625 for the table and then either the OF1400 or 1010 as a hand held. My issue is choosing a table saw and lift / elevator. Keep looking at the UJK one from Axminster but £230 for a router lift is a lot.

Forget the dewalt for the router table, grab attend T11 as it has above table height adjustment, works out cheaper than a dewalt + router lift as well. I have one and it's a dream machine in the table.

+1 for the T11. One of the few machines with through the table height adjustment as standard. I've used a T11, but never tried a Triton.
