Not entirely buying advice as I have it and have had for a while, but I'm mobilising the old girl and wanted to know what 'size/weight bearing' castors I should be looking to use on the frame I am welding up.

I started planing to do it with some 125mm ones I had already knocking about the place, but by the time I'd have fitted them allowing the frame to be slung below them it's quite a frightening prospect holding it all together (design flaw initially). Smaller ones would fit together in a safer manner I think - been racking my brain for a while trying to figure an elegant solution.

I have seen a thread on here from a few years ago where someone did just that, but the thread seemed to go cold after the chap was given some advice about a poorly fitted riving knife so thought better of resurrecting that.

Thanks in advance for anyone's knowledge regarding this.

before shelling out for castors, I would do some research on types. Whilst many may be rated for 60kgs per corner, some material will be more suitable than others for such a weight- rubber for instance will flatten.

I saw some decent bases made by Peter Parfitt I think on youtube. I will have a look and see if I can find the link
