With this hose pipe ban in place I'd like to make better use of the water in by butts and thought I might use the karcher pressure washer as a pump but I need to ensure that there are no bits sucked up into the pump.

Karcher supply a suction hose and filter at about £30 which seems excessive.

Has anyone come across a simple hose end water filter? I've googled without success, so far.

thanks

Andy

Andy,
You could raid your wife's tights drawer. Alternatively, in days of yore when home brewing was popular, you could buy nylon mesh filters to filter the mash - possibly these are available still.

Andy,
Roger has a good point. It reminds me that I used to have a Karcher but it was so sensitive to inlet pressure, it stopped pumping if inlet pressure dropped too low - I gave it away in the end.

Perhaps one of those little pumps that are driven by an electric drill might do?
