Yes, I wrote an app once that appended a random quote to my mail signature at work, got a bit fed up of explaining them to people, especially if they were from Germany :)

Its a paid for service from Google, they come and do the photography.
That sounds good. The did a very god job and it seems to be something that I can use as well. can I ask how much you paid for it?

Thanks very much. All my panos are now either on 360cities or Flickr.

Back to your question. IIRC you contact a GTP photographer to shoot your 360s and they then handle the rest with Google.

Interesting - I've done many and various projects with Hugin, but only one 360!
