If somebody buys this, and the VHS tape needs replacing, I think that I may have a spare in the loft.

That would make an excellent manual tapping stand with the addition of a handwheel on the spindle. I've got one very much like it and I wouldn't be without it.
Deffo worth £20 for said application.
As a drill press, I'd say it probably leaves a little to be desired.....
