Hi, a while back I saw some very hefty f type clamps with a barrelled screw pad.
The screw handle hinges so as to get extra purchase or folds in presumably to be able to loosen or tiighten up quickly or not to foul in the work piece.

They were excellent for the type of heavy carpentry I do but googling doesn't throw up anything familiar. Name stamped on the jaws was italian sounding, predictably I can't remember the name. Any pointers?

Help appreciated

Ideal-schraubzwinge, Turnus.de and Gedore have F clamps with swing over handles (all German rivals to Bessey) these give big mechanical advantage

Planet do a HD clamp with that style handle.

You often see these clamps on the cheap tool stands at shows by the likes of Silverline and Am-Tec

The other option are the long reach Pony pipe clamps on a short pipe, think they are the No 52 heads, thats what I use when I need a lot of pressure.

These? The brand is Alfa ( Morsetti or Strettoi Alfa) wich I think are the best among those made in Italy.

You can find them here:

and in many other places.

They are the most used in Italy, they are practically indestructible.
