Velcro backed disc sander abrasive

I emailed Axminster to ask if my disc can be taken off the disc sander to chagne between abrasives and he recommended these:

Anyone have experience with these? Seems ridiculous they don't fit these as standard, and make the abrasive things disposable!

And it seems like I should be able to get some regular adhesive velcro hook stuff to put on myself instead of this £15 one?

I fitted some to my disk and belt sander and just stuck it on with contact adhesive.....that was over a year ago now and still going strong. I now use all of my velcro backed disks on it. :wink:

Thanks! I'll check out the dimensions later when I get a chance but I hope it's right, it's so cheap!

And what is contact adhesive and where can I get it?

ETA: Do I need to cover the entire thing, or just put strips on where they can go? I'm not very mathy, so I'm drawing diagrams now to see if the 100mm x 150mm velcro will fit on my disc, which is 125mm. I think it will, right? Just cut strips of it and try and fit them all on?
