The old Rawlplug Number 8, makes a great centre punch for use on metals etc, great for use on small items where precision is required.

I regularly find them at car boot/ flea markets costing only pence…I’ve got quite a few different sizes
The point can be ground off, making a useable pin punch

Why?

I still have sites where this makes more sense than a normal drill.

Centre punches are dirt cheep.
I collected 10 for £0:50p at car boot.
