All peripherals you have are USB 2 compatible.
Anything you're likely to get in the next few years will be USB 2 compatible.
Don't worry about it DW :)

Happy New Year!

it's part of the usb spec that all new revisions must be fully backward compatible. so usb 1.0/1.1/2.0 devices will all connect to a usb 3.0 port just fine.

In addition to everything being backwards compatible, it's also worth noting that, for things like mice, keyboards and other accessories, the speed is irrelevant - so you would never notice. Further, unless you have some really high end hardware, most cheap USB storage drives are not even using the full bandwidth available of USB2 (480Mb/s), never mind USB3 (which is over 4Gb/s). Current external HDD's may benefit slightly mind you, but as far as I know, the only things available just now which can really take advantage of USB3 are external SSD hard drives, and they are not cheap!

Bottom line, by the time you can cheaply buy things which take advantage of USB3, you will likely have a computer which is USB3 compatible anyway.
