Almost done.

My Mum's Christmas pressie resurrected from my brother's doomed goblet!!!

The lids is bit wonky in the pics as I haven't pushed down hard during varnishing.

It's going to be quite a nice firm fit tho' I say it as shouldn't.

and to EVERYBDY for their ideas.; I sometimes think if a couple of people put the processes in a slightly different way, the different approaches can be enough for the penny to drop.

yes its often more difficult to explain than to do, but we get there in the end :)
