hi new to this site looking for some information on this saw which i have just aquired
marked on the blade jos tyzack and sons sheffield england with jt and three legged isle of man logo
any info would be apperciated...wwf

It's a Floor board saw, cutting out floorboards from the Middle rather than lifting the whole board.

......... and probably from the 1960s.?

Joseph Tysack were taken over by Spear & Jackson in the mid 1980's but they still used the Tysack name on some items.
 
thanks for the qiuck replies thought it might be for floor boards but looks different than
others i have seen and couldnt find anything similar on google ....many thanks wwf
 
The more common pattern has teeth on a sloping part of the upper edge as well. Simon Barley's book shows a design very much like yours but with a back like a tenon saw. Is there a gap in the handle where a back would have fitted?
