Found another plane, this time a transitional plane. Union is the manufacturer, it looks to be around a Stanley #6 in size and so could perhaps fullfill the role I am looking for as a jointer. Seller might want too much for it though, I offered 30 but didn't get over his reserve, he has a buy now price of 50 euros which is too much, I am not sure I am willing to pay more than a few euros more than I've already offered. But maybe I dodged a bullet and this is some crap.

All I found on the blood & gore site was some unhelpful and snide commentary, I am starting to think it's less and less useful as an accurate guide every time I try to reference information from it...

Ugh some idiot paid 50 euros for this thing, I don't begrudge him the plane since I hit my limit at the 30 I offered, but people like these have been driving plane prices up beyond whats reasonable.

I have a transitional plane, and don't like it. Whilst it does benefit from the low friction of the wooden sole, the discontinuity
of the bedding made blade seating questionable, and the adjuster is too fiddly ineffective.

Use either a woodie or an all metal plane.
