toolpost thread size

does anyone know if the axminster evolution series tool rests are the same size thread as the robert sorby? got the sorby toolpost and some sorby rests , but need a 4" straight 1 and noticed the axi 1 is a bit cheaper, but not a lot of good if i doesn't fit the sorby post

I believe I saw a post on one of the forums that I visit and the outcome was that they are not the same.

Don't know the thread size for the Axminster, but Sorby use metric fine M12x1.25

thanks , I just seen a 4" sorby straight toolrest with a Axminster post for sale on Ebay, so I presume they are the same

I don't know the definitive answer, but I would counsel caution - Don't assume they are compatible unless you get a confirmation from the seller. (Incompatibility may be reason for sale). (hammer)

I have both systems and they are NOT compatible.
