2 oil stones, almost unworn.
Eclipse 77 saw set, despite the colour, its steel, not bronze. Its magnetic, and dated 1944 with the ministry arrow.
Disston No 8 or D-8 "Thumb hole" ripsaw, sharpened out, but still straight and sharp. 1896-1917
No. 6 Plane. No name or trademark found, slight sharpen, and works well.
All in £12

I may start another thread to see if anyone can identify this plane. I feel its UK made as the frog screws are 1/4 whitworth.

Good haul, especially the D8, and all at a bargain price.

I'd be interested in the plane ID as I have a couple of planes - a no 8 and a no 5) - to ID but neither carries a maker's name/brand, just have the model number embossed onto them.

What are the stones?

I hope that under all that muck, they are both orange carborundum.
Certainly one worked very well with just oil, when first used.
When I get them clean, I'll confirm.

That looks jolly impressive.

Not really a hand tool person so rarely on this forum, but guessing from looking at other posts you earned them with an early morning at a car boot sale. Haven't been to a car boot sale for years, but notice these days you seem to have to pay a substantial premium to get in during the first hour, guess that all driven by the people looking for items to sell on ebay and organisers wanting to exploit this. Still everyone has to make a crust I guess.

Terry.
