Hi All,
very old planer thicknesser does,nt feed thru very well, the knurling and milling on the rollers looks ok without stripping them out, there appears to be a spring loading arrangement on the bearing housings for the roller,Q is this a user adjustable item--there are nuts under the spring ,or is it set when built, the machine is an Inca model and very old,all help welcome ,thanks for reading,

Grandmothers and eggs, but have you cleaned and waxed the feed tables? This can make an enormous difference.
Also worth checking that the rollers can move up and down properly; if the slots in which the bearings sit get clogged with shavings, that can stop the rollers dropping far enough to engage with the timber.

I'm not familiar with Inca planers, but all the non-portable planers I've seen had adjustable infeed rollers. To adjust it correctly, you will need to set it a little below the cutting circle (the bottom edge of the knife). There are various ways to do this; I use a dial indicator to find the cutting circle, then use it to lower the feed roll to the proper point. Make sure you measure both the left and the right sides of the roll (relative to the table) so your boards feed properly.

Here's an article on tuning up your thicknesser:
