Cost and time are as always the two determining factors and it's only in the last 10 years we've managed holidays or breaks of any kind as I was too wrapped up in the business. Last 6 or so long haul and our attitude has changed as we are desperate to see all we can whilst both earning and still reasonably fit. My wife struggles a bit on longer walks.
We are very lucky to have been able to tick a number of the boxes on our travel wish list and of course once we retire will have to be much more careful about the costs. Only trouble is that the travel list is very very long
Lottery is a waste of time in my case though I did once win a tenner and last year got a life changing win of £84. Great to dream
