T8 Torx screws stuck!

Im having real trouble getting these out!

Its spindle moulder tooling and the TCT tips are fitted with T8 screws.

The problem Im having is the T8 screwdriver tips twist or mush......so far Ive broken 3.

Im soaking at the mo with penetrating oil 'no nonsense'

Would heating or putting in freezer help?

Have you tried putting an elastic band in between the bit and the screw when unscrewing? I have no idea if it works or if it's one of those crappy social media 'hacks' that are useless, but worth a try

Sounds like you need better driver bits!

They wont break the bank and if it snaps take them back for a refund

Most importantly, use a good quality screwdriver or bit e.g. Wera diamond coated bits, such as this: https://www.toolstation.com/shop/sd620
Then try one or all of the following:
Place a bit in the screw and give it a sharp tap - this sometimes breaks the stiction between the screw and the machine, making it easier to undo.
The best way is to give it a sharp tap and a controllable shock at the same time by using a bit such as the one shown above in an impact driver like this: https://www.toolstation.com/shop/Hand+T ... Set/p90581.
Try tightening the screw first; again this may help overcome stiction.
Apply moderate heat to the screw and surrounding area using a heatgun or hairdrier. This will be especially effective if the screws were previously fitted using some form of threadlocker.
Carefully(!) - use a power tool impact driver as the shock of the impact helps get things moving.

most bit sets including the wera ones only go down to t10 - t8 is needed

What about an allen key ? Might get more leverage on it.

Stick a soldering iron in the cavity on the end of the screw, give it a minute & try it, penetrating oil like plus gas & repeat. WD40 is not a lot of use for this.
If a fastener has threadlock like loctite on it heat will break the seal.

Many thanks for the advice, I found leaving it with penetrating oil and then heat on the screw worked.

And a new torx bit!
