Thought it was a bit blowy outdoors and have just seen there's a storm on the news. Don't remember any warning and it seems worse than the recent one we did get warned about!

Just hope everyone on here is okay and not flooded out or anything.

It's been chaos on the roads.
I've seen 5 lorries on their sides, many trees across roads but most of all I've had to dodge 1000s of wheelie bins skating across the road.

Is that in Worcs?

wheelie bins EVERYWHERE!!! And recycling boxes... and the recycling lol

we got sent home early from work as it was deemed too dangerous, and then my bus had to stop half way home so I ended up having to walk to a relatives until a new bus came but it never did so had to get a lift.

Apparently Scotland is very bad, got a few friends up there and have seen some pictures from them on facebook

No in North Yorkshire, South Yorshire and North Derbyshire although there was a large ( 1m dia) tree on its side at the office when I got back tonight.

I also have 2 fence panels missing at home.

I did a delivery in Airedale today and went up a road with lots off trees swaying. I came back down the same road 2 minutes later to find a 50ft oak tree lying in my path.

Thems quick buggers!

Dunno what it's been like on the West Coast, but here on the East coast of Alba, it's not been too bad. Flying wheelie bins, yes, the odd tree down, yes, but not as bad as we have seen from time to time. Worst part was the combined effect of wind and the various forms of water in it - pellet snow, hail, sleet, true snow, the lot. Good at taking the skin off your face.

Now, does that dog REALLY need a walk?????

I used to live up in Aberdeen, I never remember it getting too bad there, further west on the other hand I did get trapped by the weather a few times, once got trapped in Inverurie for over a day lol. Still got a few friends there and not seen much from them, those I know over on the west though, and on some of the islands, have been posting some incredable photos lol

I will let you know in the morning as my workshop is close to the sea! There is a red warning in place at the moment and all day the flood warning tannoy has been going off around the town. I did move all of my tools up onto my benches but the machinery is still at floor level. The tyre company next door had his roof put in today when a large hoarding crashed through it! I am going to be repairing the roof tomorrow at the request of the Landlord. If I have a workshop left that is.

Had very strong winds here in the afternoon with the usual flying wheelie bins, the trampoline bounced (no pun intended  ) accross the lawn and damaged a few fence panels. The connifer in next door's garden (40' or so tall and it has 3 friends) shed a massive limb that took out his phone line and missed mine by inches :D but it has left a rather large gap in the boundry privit hedge that will take a few years to grow out. As i type this the winds are picking up again and the flood warnings are in place.Lost just about everything in the floods of 2007 and spent 18 months in a caravan while things got sorted , bugger all i could do about that back then and bugger all i can do now either so its fingers crossed and hope for the best

Alan I'm almost frightened to ask but, "is everything ok in the workshop" I hope you didn't get flooded out or suffer any wind damage.

Baldhead

Was pretty exciting up here too, it's twice in "recent" history that Elgin's flooded badly, and the last one wiped out virtually everything my wife an I owned, since we were in a ground floor only country cottage at the time. Everyone was waiting for high tide with great interest yesterday, as the rain had been absolutely sluicing down, off and on, since 4am odds.

Pleased to report it didn't get any worse. The rain abated, though we were treated to a parade of all the different forms of precipitation that the Scottish clouds have to offer throughout the day.

Lots of trees down around the country - if you know some friendly tree surgeons, now's the time to be looking for free wood! :)

Just some strong gusting winds down here that actually did me a favour. My garden had thousands of leaves which I had not got round to raking up but the wind kindly blew most of them into large piles in the corners. I just have to use my leaf vacuum to collect them. :D

Luckily for me there was no damage to the workshop. I had a look at the unit next door and will be repairing the roof on Monday. I was surprised to see no water had come over the 'wall' as the promenade just up the road was flooded. there is a rail track between me and the Humber so I think that must have helped.
