The time will be upon me before I know it for
Making a few Christmas presents so I thought I would start a thread with a few things that I have seen that I might try to recreate well as little gifts- they may do well at craft fairs if that is your thing.

This looks pretty good- I wondered wether to try one out using a feet saw and metal blade- would brass be suitable? You could even use wooden scales to make a handle.

These look like a bit of fun using a few scraps. A 3" version would make a good desk version too.

I will add some more as I find them. Please feel free to do the same.

I have come across that sort Walnut opener before, in fact because of that I now use a screwdriver. If Brass, at that thickness, is not stiff enough then a hex screwdriver bit could be glued into a suitable wooden handle and ground to an interesting shape.
The keyring 'phone stand is great!
Item three seems to be a repeat of item one. Not sure if you intended that.

Good ideas both. I hope more may be added.
Thanks xy.

No, must have hit paste twice. A hex screwdriver bit is a good idea, I will try a prototype with that.

These look quite a nice gift- the coaster sets.

Silhouettes of distinct animal shapes work well for these. A black labrador on a pale background would be appreciated by my mother, although the cats work very well in the link http://www.qjsmarquetry.co.uk/craft.php
