Hi guys, I've not been on here for many years, life got in the way! I'm about to retire, and have bought a very second-hand bandsaw as above. Written on the saw is "Blade length 87 1/2 inches". The existing (broken) blade is about 10mm wide and has six teeth per inch. I want to use this for all sorts of projects in wood, and would really appreciate any advice over getting a new blade. Screwfix do one for a tenner, but it's 88" long, will that do, or does it have to be exactly 87.5"? And did the mention of Screwfix make anyone do a sharp intake of breath? If so, please recommend somewhere/someone to go to for good quality blades.
I'm going to be given the full set of Steve Maskery's dvd's for my 70th, which I hope will enable me to spend the rest of my life with a tuned band- and table saw, and enough jigs to keep me happy!
Oh, and it's great to be back!
