hi does anyone have 1 or no much about them i got i yesterday plus a record no 6 for £5.00 from the auction in my little town i have never seen 1 before its a great little tool

Lurcher I`ve never seen one before but I found one on the net, the guy called it a razor shave.Looked like a mettle version of a wooden spoke shave.
I know the guy wanted 245 dollars for it, Good luck to him.
 
I've never heard of it either til I googled one.

Having seen a picture, it looks like a bevel-up blade arrangement in a metal body. I guess that it works rather like the wooden versions that we are used to.

Does the slotted screw holes mean that there's adjustment on the blade to close up the mouth? If so, it sounds a great idea....... worth some manufacturer resurrecting, perhaps.
 
the mouth does adjust and it does cut so well i have alot of the old boxwood shaves and the regular record and stanley type
i just did the dooogle boogle and it seems a rare tool .
if i can learn how to upload some pics i will take some today and sshow you all what its like sounds to me like it might be worth more than i paid for the 2 tools
